This and that...

This weekend was SO pretty for a nice change!  I'll take 65-70 degree weather any January day!  We spend most of the weekend cleaning out the yard and trimming everything back before the Spring.  The boys think anything is fun when you give them trimming tools....  what they don't get is that I am using them for child labor ;)  Saturday night the boys and Leslie went to see the movie called The Green Hornet.  They seemed to have liked it because they were building something from the movie with Legos yesterday.  I went to see, No Strings Attached, and LOVED it!  Sunday we went to church and then the boys went off with Dad so mommy could meet Lindsay for a mall trip :)  Next weekend I am taking the boys to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo and am WAY excited!  Anytime I get to rock my boots in actual MUD is a good day for this mama!  Christian will be in his glory with all the animals!  I cannot wait!

Here's Brenden and Mommy messing around last weekend, he likes pictures of himself lol.....

FedEx.... weapons.... and Legos = BOYS

Right after I finally get all the Christmas stuff put away and the boys new toys in their new places, we get a large box delivered from FedEx.  I thought "I" made out lucky this year with the minimal amount of toys I "thought" the boys opened.... WRONG!  As most of you know, Brenden and Christian went to California this year on Christmas day where they clearly were spoiled by my family.  On the drive home they were not able to fit all their new stuff so it needed to be shipped home, hence the FedEx delivery.  Anyhow.....  I get this box about two weeks ago, yes two weeks ago.  I have been holding out on giving it to the boys in hope of spreading out the wealth and it lasting longer than the 30 seconds it takes before they're over it already.  Again, I failed...  I was cooking dinner and went to get the boys in their room and when I turned the corner this is what I saw.....

These were the "weapons" responsible for the break in LOL!

Two facts learned here: 1. after age 4, there is no hiding anything from kids.  If it i in the house, it will be found!  2:  I get trophy for world's best mother!  Note to self, hide the knifes and other sharp objects!  All and all, however, the night was good one.  We ended up building one of these Lego's and it only took 2 hours verse my normal 4!

New to the blog world

Seeing as I am in a different state from most of my friends and family, I figure a blog spot is an awesome way to keep in touch.  Unfortunately, at this time in our lives we really don't have to much going to report on, LOL!  Being from California, I don't think I'll EVER get used to the cold weather.  I must say that I feel more of a "Texan" this year than in the years previous when it comes to tolerating the cold, however I still cannot stand it!  With that being said, we just aren't doing much other than hitting up Redbox for new movies 3 times a week.  With a supposed sunny and rather warm weekend ahead of us, hopefully we will get out and do something fun!
